TRAFFIC Down Under Domain Sale Results
Last night was the TRAFFIC Down Under domain auction in Australia and I was virtually there as I watched the auction live via webcast and listened as well…..I was able to bid using ProxyBid.com and the auction was pretty interesting and only two domains sold for over $100k…..there were:
CR.com and SanJuan.com
I picked up www.AcidRefluxRelief.com www.InEarHeadphones.com and www.FreeCellMinutes.com - if anyone is interested please let me know…..
A couple domains in the $400k - $1M had zero takers….SenoirCitizens.com no bidders at $400k and Venice.com - no players at $1M opening bid…..
I really wanted GranolaBar.com which ultimately sold for about $4k - $5k…I stopped bidding at $2,500…..my heart was racing though, LOL
Here is a pic of the auction…..

Five Biggest Mistakes That Entrepreneurs Make
I came across a GREAT video today on the Five Biggest Mistakes That Entrepreneurs Make by Jerry Kaplan - check it out…..it’s very good!
Jerry Kaplan, serial entrepreneur, executive, technical innovator, and author, elaborates on the five biggest mistakes that entrepreneurs make:
1) Having unclear goals and an unclear mission
2) Trying to prove that they are smart
3) Greed - doing it for money.
4) Hiring people that they like rather than people that they need.
5) Not knowing when to let go.
Check it out and let me know what you think…
I’m Feelin’ Lucky Button Costs Google $110M
If one little button caused your company to lose out on $110 million in potential annual revenue, you would probably kick that silly button to the curb, right? Well, not if you’re Google. About one percent of users click the search engine’s “I’m Feeling Lucky Button,” but because the button takes searchers directly to the top result, bypassing search ads, the button doesn’t generate the same revenue as regular queries. Feelin’ lucky then suddenly feels like losin’ $110 million in possible annual revenue. In most businesses, that costly little bugger would lose its job faster than a vampire working at a blood bank, but Google exec Marissa Meyer pish-posed the idea of not letting users get lucky anymore, explaining, “It’s possible to become too dry, too corporate, too much about making money. I think what’s delightful about ‘I’m Feeling Lucky’ is that it reminds you there are real people here.”
rock CAN roll

I sit on the Board of Directors of rock CAN roll which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit food hunger organization…I met the founder about two years and when I heard your vision and saw/felt her PASSION, towards the cause, I told her I would help her achieve her goals….
Two years later, rockCANroll has collected over 30,000 food items and nearly $30,000. All the food is placed in local food pantries and shelters….did you know as affluent as Long Island, NY is there is still 800 food shelters!! WOW - that sucks!
Last night I had the pleasure of volunteering at the rockCANroll table at the Rat Dog concert at Westbury Music Fair (a/k/a CapitalOne theater) and was happy to collect nearly 200 food items and just under $300…thanks boys & girls…it’s all going to help feed our fellow long islanders!!
Bob Weir also signed some rockCANroll tote bags…thanks Bob!!
